Christopher Bailey is good at surprises. Every show has a moment that’s like finding the prize at the bottom of the cereal box: you know it’s going to be there, you just don’t know what it’ll be.
Last season it was the candy-wrapper metallics. For fall 2013, the Burberry Prorsum men’s runway was stalked by animal prints, from leopard to zebra.
Some of the animal print pieces were more daring than others, like full leopard coats or animal print winklepicker shoes (a rockstar item if ever there was one). But for those who like their safari subtle, look to the small satchels in chestnut or cognac leather, in which a leopard print ipad cases just peeked over the edge of an exterior pocket.
The Prorsum runway also brought the expected array of covetable outerwear to satisfy every male: trench coats, duffles, bombers, donkey jackets and great coats kept the choices broad, while for those after something even more unique perhaps a transparent rubber raincoat will be on the cards. Stylish and weatherproof: now that does sound like the Burberry brand.
