There was a kind of magic that happened in the ’80s when soft pastel colours and sporty cuts and long, dangly drop earrings all came together in harmony. Of course that was the ’80s, and we’d by no means go about recreating it blow-by-blow today. Instead Catherine Malandrino’s spring / summer 2013 presentation at New York fashion week (NYFW) showed what can happen if you extract the parts of that magic that still apply today, and rework them into something modern.
Malandrino’s pure white pieces of crochet and mesh were the stand-outs.
