Suzanne Clements and husband Inacio Ribeiro, the magnificent designer duo behind Clements Ribeiro, decided to build their fall / winter 2013 collection upon the things they love. Said and done. The peaceful preference turned inspiration, translated greatly onto the mix of oversized floral prints, the light, geek-chic silhouettes and the fervent embroidery. But the line-up was far more than just a gentle juxtaposition of ideas, and seeing how the designers belong to two different cultures, it wasn’t long before the collection evolved towards a more complicated affair, accented by the clash of prints, the bulky proportions and the elaborate femininity.
From there the use of red lace overlays, tartan and geometric prints, combined with the beautiful simplicity of an embroidered bird motif felt overwhelming at times, hitting the high and low notes with the same velocity. The punk-rock styling accompanied every single one of the eclectic numbers, from sparkling, sheer dresses and skirts to wild, leopard and floral print fusions. The final touches were guaranteed by the choice of footwear that included pointy metallic flats and ankle strap boots.
