It was a game of hide and seek at Cristiano Burani’s spring / summer 2013 show, the collection finding creative ways to play on the concept of hiding skin and revealing it. Nude panels called for double-takes. Was it skin or fabric? Burani’s use of sheer fabrics ranged from shiny organza skirting to floating gauzy dresses to clear plastic capes.
Burani’s collection may have been about showing skin but it wasn’t all sexy cliches. Instead Burani played with the peek-a-boo notions with a kind of futuristic inkling. Geometric panels, sheer hoods and interesting use of texture made sure sheer was reworked in unique ways for spring.
