Daks designer Sheila McKain-Waid is all about the elegant simplicity of a well tailored garment. That showed through again for spring / summer 2013 with a London fashion week (LFW) runway filled with minimalistic dream pieces that floated past first in whites and creams, and later in an array of other colours.
Outerwear – a Daks specialty – came in the form of both trench coats and capes, contrasting the fluidity of dresses with an English sensibility of check patterns and traditional colour ways. There’s little here that won’t appeal to the lover of refined classics: both McKain-Waid’s liquid silk dresses and tailored pieces alike more than fit the bill.
