With the cool downtown girl in mind and the good old denim at heart, Diesel Black Gold gave us a first taste of the resort 2014 season and judging by what we see, we can already sense it is going to be a fabulous one. Mostly monochromatic, built in slim shapes and exuding of strength and confidence, Andreas Melbostad’s line up borrowed inspiration from a painter’s workwear and a fireman’s uniform.
The utilitarian approach translated to an array of structured coats, slim pants and easy dresses that were veiled in subtlety and touched by a gentle feel. Modeled by Kremi Otashliyska, the basketweave wool knits, the moto-style jeans and the full spectrum of leather biker jackets persisted in exploring Diesel’s strengths, while bringing forth a sense of newness and easiness.
A black and white bandana inspired print was the only graphic element chosen to adorn the silhouettes of a slim-fitted pair of jeans, a sharp T-shirt and a paneled sweater. Mixing the old with the new and the tough with the soft, Diesel Black Gold’s dresses and separates gave off the coolest of vibes.
