According to Kris Van Assche’s latest collection envisioned for Dior Homme, there’s a lot of roughness and strictness veiling the menswear department at the moment, more so if we were to consider the fall / winter 2013 line-up a quick preview of what the future holds in its hands when it comes to this very specific fashion category. Silhouettes stripped to their purest technical form, rather sleek than dull, with a different kind of attitude, still powerful, but felling more modern and oriented towards the innovative details.
Based upon various approaches that had as departing point the same deep-rooted concept of the slim-fitted black suit, a staple of Dior’s valuable heritage, the fall 2013 collection brought a sense of novelty where cutting-edge zippers and nickel buckles replaced the classic buttons and belts almost completely, and where the classic palette of black, white and navy was gently infused with just a hint of indispensable colour.
