Better known for being a womanswear brand, Elie Tahari Ltd is slowly, but surely, creating a name for itself as an iconic menswear fashion house. Creative Director Ingo Wilts knows how to create simple, solid and durable pieces, mixing fabrics and colours to create collections every man can find something in.
What it lacks in spontaneity, it more than covers for in wearability.and style. Trouser legs are always high enough to show the ankles, adding a bit of an Italian flair to an otherwise very American collection. Furthermore, the colours used are reserved yet spot-on, often in shades of white, blue, grey and pink, which help outlining the beautiful custom pattern button down shirts.
Materials was kept basic, with a limited yet insightful use of leather, thick enough to protect anyone from the average American spring, even though one could doubt the protection it would offer against a less forgiving English Spring.
As for the jackets, they are all either single-breasted or zip-ups. Note the presence of one trench coat which would do wonders against the rain and wind.
The shorts offered are also very classic and can be worn with or without a light jacket.
All in all, a d-Elie-ciously simple collection which we’ll be able to wear anytime, anywhere.
