Iceland and the unbreakable bond between man and nature is what inspired Silvia Venturini Fendi’s fall / winter 2013 collection. The Icelandic connotation was loud and clear on the runway as the main focus was set on heavy knits, fur coats and boots and as unexpectedly as it sounds, a reworked version of a fisherman’s cape.
On a lighter note, Fendi’s fall 2013 collection wasn’t far from depicting a new sense of urban polish as well. Perfectly tailored suits, slim button-down shirts topped by innovative ties and a selection of elegant looking coats infused the runway with modern appeal. The warm and cozy looking line-up is undoubtedly a fresh take on a man’s fall and winter essentials, despite its adventurous spirit that might steer a few of them away. Sometimes evolution can work as both a blessing and a curse.
