Flannel’s minimal beauty, Spring 2010

Fringed suede and floaty cream pieces matched with tan leather were minimalist-meets-prairie at Flannel‘s RAFW (Australian fashion week) show. Paul Simon’s Graceland made for oddly fitting runway music as country American inspirations shone through in leather shorts and vests and dresses with tasseled hems.

While undoubtedly not for everyone, Flannel was for me an RAFW favourite. The pieces are the type that shouldn’t be over-accessorised, but rather admired for their clean, minimal beauty; and such was the styling of the parade. The unpolished wet-look hair added a masculine edge to the looks.
