Despite an apparent toughness that distinguishes itself as a clear first impression right when the cutting edge look meant to open the line-up allures us with its elusory rigor, there’s still a remarkable softness that sinks into femininity, slowly unveiling itself before our eyes once we take a closer look at Francesco Scognamiglio’s pre-autumn / fall 2013 collection. Built upon a game of contrasts, of lightness and restrictiveness, of power and sensibility, of refinement and modern appeal the line-up is more than a mid-summer dream.
Coming out strong while bringing back glimpses of elegance from a distant era, the first part of the collection carries a strong emphasis on daywear, with an even more specific focus on the effortless quality that makes the garments appear light, wearable and above all, distinctively appropriate for the times we are living. Wrapped in the most beautiful shades of tan, ivory, black and white, topped by precious splashes of bronze, the timeless silhouettes represent the perfect take on the fall wardrobe.
For night, the same silhouettes are being kept clean and sleek, with minimal embellishments envisioned especially in delicate ruffles, sheer inserts and sparkling sequins. The color palette gets a lively infusion as well, courtesy of a deliciously gorgeous hue of raspberry pink, meant to keep the pre-fall collection perfectly balanced and consistent.
