Freya Dalsajo brought an interesting mix to her spring / summer 2013 runway. The overarching mood was one of sportiness: her leather skirts had a flouncy, tennis-style cut, shoulders were exaggerated to a quarterback level, cut-away visors were both sporty and modern. The fact that such sportswear oriented themes have popped up recurrently at Copenhagen fashion week (CFW) is confirmation that for many designers – in Europe in particular – the Olympic spirit didn’t stop influencing fashion at 2012, but continues to influence into next year.
Keeping the sports theme fresh, Dalsajo’s pieces were laced with 1920s references – feathers, fringing, loose cut high-waisted pants – and edged with the toughness of leather.
