Winterfell, as in George R.R. Martin’s imposing Game of Thrones castle, is the location that inspired Gryphon’s fall / winter 2013 collection, alongside a winter wonderland envisioned by designer Aimee Cho. The highly unexpected combination of the two lead towards the shaping of an equally unique collection that came across bold, high on the masculine accents, but also modern and polished. Basically a smart mix of everything a woman might need in order to bravely face up to the cold season.
The antagonistic concepts were gently carried across the entire line up, as the edgy elements collided with a series of softer touches. More precisely the denizens of Winterfell, with all of its harsh glamour is translated to a series of savage furs, leather harnesses and tough leather details. On the opposite side, the winter wonderland is represented by the playful selection of outerwear, with a strong emphasis on patterned fleeces and sporty puffers, perfect for a week-end getaway. Enough elements to take the city by storm, with plenty of garments left to sign on for a fun escapade.
