A clean cut gent in a bowler and a three piece will never go unnoticed in the modern day. The trick, though, is in making it look like you’re from the modern day and not stepped out of a time machine. Hackett didn’t add any out-there details to distinguish their fall / winter 2013 man, but distinguished he was in all senses of the word. Planting him firmly in the present was his contemporary suit cut: slim but not skinny, coupled with precicesly the right accessories.
As the London fashion week (LFW) show progressed, Hackett’s traditional British gent got more daring, mixing in bold colours like burnt orange and teal, Fair Isle prints and clashing checks, and even notes of exoticism with tasseled hats. Boldly classic, even if such a phrase seems paradoxical.
