Casual coolness might just be her middle name and given the fact that she loves to promote an effortless kind of urban uniform, the uncomplicated, light, almost basic collection envisioned by Isabel Marant for the fall / winter 2013 season came as further proof that sometimes simplicity gives place to the best kind of attitude. One that results in us looking great and feeling confident, without overthinking the getting ready process.
Inspired by the cold winter days and nights that call for time spent indoors and make one reluctant to the idea of having to step outside and brave the cold, Marant thought about great looking outfits that also keep warm. The solution, layers and layers of thin, but oh-so-cool garments. Built upon a series of lightweight fabrics, Marant’s layers felt like an open invitation to mix-and-match accordingly.
Prints worn underneath transparent tops, structured oversize coats thrown over sweater dresses, leggings and ultra-short minis paired to wedge boots in ponyskin, studded skinny scarfs and sheer body-con tops, all gave you an idea on how to look seemingly put together, without having to break a sweat. The right kind of garments will help you do just that and Isabel Marant turned this into her legacy.
