Touched by a darker and moodier color palette, Gilles Mendel’s pre-fall 2013 collection drew pretty far away from his light and blossoming spring 2013 lineup. Now, the looks effortlessly carry an edgier attitude that works great against the architectural concept in charge of bringing a sense of novelty this season. The fall-ready garments feel exquisitely modern, tough, yet entirely feminine.
J.Mendel’s signature silhouettes are deepened by the smart use of metallic jacquard for pre-fall, featuring gorgeous copper and dark blue hues that read fall completely and most flawlessly. Striking leather inserts accented the bold feel of the entire lineup, complementing sophisticated jackets, sleek dresses, peplum tops and dapper skirts. Each and every one carefully infused with the high level of sophistication that up until now defined Mendel’s aesthetic.
The same darker theme joined forces with various romantic notes successfully translating into an array of evening and red-carpet ready gowns that looked heavenly light and unique. The ivory organza alongside the black lace appliques, were emphasized by delicate off-the-shoulder ruffles and flattering peplums.
