Jenny Packham Fall / Winter 2013

When it comes down to breathtaking evening and formal-wear, there’s always Jenny Packham’s name to hold onto, dreaming in anticipation of what’s next in matters of red-carpet apparel. With an impressive client list made out of celebrities, Packham’s shows are an open invitation to reverie, more so for the fall / winter 2013 season for which the inspiration came straight from the seventeenth-century Paris salons. That would explain the softness, the romance and maybe some of the relaxed feel surrounding the gorgeous line-up.

Gazing at the mesmerizing gowns that have walked the runway, dipped in the most tempting colors and embellished by the most delicate sequin patterns, one could easily see why Jenny Peckham steers away from infusing her line with day wear ensembles. For her, the magic still lies in the luxurious fabrics, the intricate beading, the exquisite draping and why not just admit it, sticking to one’s strengths is not such a bad idea after all. To complement the collection, a selection of rich, beaded wool coats worn over the dresses shows the amount of though Jenny Packham puts into every single line-up: the red carpet isn’t always the warmest place one could find herself stepping in.
