Just Cavalli’s most beautiful looks were maximal in print but minimal in detail, or vice versa. Part of that might come down to personal taste, but it’s also the best state of affairs when it comes to highlighting and appreciating what the man truly excels at. You need to be able to see the detail or the print without one overtaking the other.
Every outfit had plenty of either, if not both. Silk dresses were awash with prints, cut to be youthful in that Just Cavalli way. Jackets with portal-sized metal eyelets ranged from the flashy (see: the metallic gold fringed leather biker) to sublimely simple (a fuzzy pastel yellow coat where the eyelets embellished only the belt). And in between all that were lavish embroideries, textured knits, and coats with silk panels that zipped off into shorter coats. Going all out is an art, but it’s one the Just Cavalli brand knows well.
