Fearless, loud, powerful and definitely not shy of color, this is how Roberto Cavalli envisioned his lady client for the pre-fall 2013 season. Fusing the manful military aesthetic, with a ornateness of texture and print seems to somehow work for the designer that effortlessly plays upon the most startling and bold combinations. And despite the abundance of themes and motifs running all throughout the collection, there’s a strong sense of cohesiveness bonding the numbers together by telling the same story.
A story where rich brocades collide beautifully with sharp-shouldered silhouettes, where playful leopard prints meet an array of baroque infused designs, and where quilted elements gently blend with Cavalli’s edgy signature style. From legion borrowed epaulet accents, to flirty lace-up boots and back to a myriad of sophisticated prints, nothing was really left out from the Just Cavalli pre-fall 2013 collection.
And maybe the pre-fall season really needed a touch of playfulness and a bit of that fearless factor seemingly defining the Cavalli woman ever so flawlessly. This serves to prove once again how a collection’s strength really lies in its unpredictability.
