Unlike most fashion shows where you are cramped and can’t move around, La Perla‘s presentation was in a spacious part of the Dream Hotel downtown. The drinks were flowing as attendees observed the 1930’s spanish bullfighting inspired lingerie of Giovanni Bianchi’s new collection. The fine details of the bows, transparent panels, and lace detailing gave it a very feminine twist – far more so than you’d think a bullfighting-inspired collection would. Giovanni stayed true to the nude and black traditional lingerie colors.
The standout pieces were the fringe lingerie dress with only lace straps that cover the breasts and the bright red dress with the deep slit at the leg and lace detail at the breast. The make-up was done by Hourglass and they wanted to express the sexual desire of a woman but maintain that confident independent look by focusing on using strong lip color, strong brows and glowing skin. The hair was pulled back into a slicked back bun further emphasizing the strength of the woman wearing the lingerie.
