Lou Dalton was giving some classics a gentle reworking for her fall / winter 2013 men’s collection. The kick-off show for London Collections: Men at London fashion week (LFW), it was a case of “Texan oil baron” (her words) meets classic gent meets punk.
Sound unusual? Only in part. Many of the twists came down to simple contrast panelling on otherwise classic suit jackets, or knee-patches on pants. Tartan trousers and shiny vinyl trench coats brought the punk element into play, while some sporty men’s bombers and a boiler suit nudged into the space of workwear-gone-stylish.
