If Mary Katrantzou’s fans, followers and clients really grew to expect anything from the imaginative collections envisioned by the Greek fashion designer, than the poetic, almost surreal use of kaleidoscopic prints in the resort 2014 line-up would certainly meet those great expectations. Vivid and breathtaking, the print frenzy traversed the world for pre-spring, eternalizing its beauty on the way.
Snow-capped Swiss Alps, São Paulo tower blocks, Victorian shopping arcades, Japanese bridges and cherry blossoms have all found a way to coexist harmoniously in a display of garments created as to delight the eyes and lighten the heart. Younger in spirit, Katrantzou’s first collection for resort spans jumpsuits, biker jackets and tunic dresses with flowy capes, still exploring volumes but in softer ways.
A floral print fantasy colored in impossible resplendent shades added even more attitude to an otherwise clean and less imposing collection.
