If casting gives clues as to a collection, then Missoni’s was hinting at 70s surf culture. They managed to find every long haired model, every boy in possession of an untamed Afro or mop of curls. Long tresses were textured, beards unkempt. The soundtrack was a wash of 70s electric guitars, providing the waves these beachy boys rode in on. The clothes weren’t sloppy or dated, though; they were relaxed but smart, Missoni’s trademark knits parading out in a palette of sand and earth tones, complimented by muted suede jackets. The show closed with blankets; heavy, warm, patched. The kind this winter 2014 boy could keep warm with by the sea.
