I suppose deconstructed clothing – all wrapped around and pinned with deliberate asymmetrical randomness – has a kind of affinity with dissonant music. Moon Young Hee’s Paris fashion week (PFW) runway seemed to marry the two things in harmony, for want of a less contradictory word. Displaced notes in a soundtrack accompanied black and white tailored outfits that themselves had, at first, displaced elements.
These soon transitioned to elegant linen dresses or masculine wide leg pants and later shorts, the spring / summer 2013 pieces taking on a clean and minimal, and yet highly organic look.
Hair was pulled forward over the ears and knotted like a human-hair turban: an ethnic twist to this clean canvas of collection.
