The idea to pick an old Italian restaurant as location for Moschino’s fall 2013 presentation at Milan fashion week (MFW) might have come across as odd, but Bill Shapiro saw beyond the actual space, as he fell in love with the subtext given by variety and the customer’s ability to choose from a multitude of options. And luckily for the gentlemen attending the actual show, Moschino’s “menu” was brimming over with diversity. So much in fact that the concept of cohesiveness got slightly lost somewhere along the way.
There was a little bit of everything for everyone, as the star print of the collection, the ever so versatile tartan served as departing point for both the more traditional and the newly introduced punk direction. The entire line-up made out of splendid coats, edgy motorcycle jackets, plaid suits and playful knits felt like something the modern guy would indeed search for in a store. Hence the general feeling that Moschino is heading towards a commercial designation for fall.
