Joanna Sykes, Nicole Farhi’s new creative director, decided to take small steps towards achieving her ultimate goal and delivering the public with a strong and cutting-edge vision. Her first move involved a beautiful menswear line-up for fall 2013, defined as a small yet powerful capsule collection that got to be presented at the men’s collections of London fashion week (LFW). Focusing on high-end knits, the soft line-up played upon simplicity and an understated elegance that appears to be both timeless and significantly modern.
The immaculate jersey tailoring was easily spotted in a full spectrum of slick coats and contemporary suits, all striking with a clean and innovative concept that is not as much about embellishments and heavy detailing, as it is about embracing the purest form of simplicity. And simplicity was what we loved in the fitting silhouettes and in the charming color palette because in the end, it’s the essence that matters most.
