Notis Panayiotou started his Athens fashion week (AXDW) show like a protest. The Cypriot designer presented a video with all the protests of Cyprus, while a model in a traditional outfit came out on the catwalk, knelt and cut her hair. Shortly and under the guidance of Adele’s Skyfall, the show begun. We saw lace in different shades and different color combinations. Queen Elizabeth was a key motif of the collection: most clothes had a crown mark while others wrote ‘Are you my Queen?’. We particularly liked the combinations of formal bottoms and sweatshirts worn through. And although hair were inspired by the ’20s era, all the clothes were more ’80s.
Men wore overalls which were combined with sneakers, a t-shirt and blazer. The tangle of good clothing with sport details was a key element in the collection. Burnt and mustard were two of the strongest colours, as well as blue and white. Lines of the clothes were simple and pants, dresses, skirts where all modestly sexy. Transparency also played a very important role and there were wedding dresses with black lace and veils, stealing all the impressions.
