“The Sound of Music” provided the more than obvious source of inspiration for what later became Olympia Le-Tan’s fall / winter 2013 collection, while the Musee de la Chasse in Paris served as the unexpected location for the quirky presentation, having polar bears, deers and owls complement the image of the cave-like runway.
“Schnitzel with Noodles” – unconventional and filled with humor, the name of the line-up captured the essence of Le-Tan’s collection, a marriage between the kitschy and the classy, with renderings of traditional Austrian outfits and a full spectrum of whimsical bags. Flirty ultra-short skirts and dresses styled with knee-high socks and red lips, were slightly tempered by the classier qualities of the capes, trench coats and turtle-neck dresses.
More of the liberating spirit that served as foundation for the collection was noticeable in the look that paired leather shorts with over-the-knee socks and a cropped t-shirt emblazoned with the name of the collection, or in the black leather dress playfully accessorized with a red heart-shaped bag and black pumps. Fun and frisky all the way.
