Peter Som’s spring / summer 2013 girl might have been ladylike all over, were her youthfulness not betrayed by one key detail: skater-girl pastel streaks in her hair and a tequila sunrise of ’80s-punk eyeshadow that got stronger the closer it got to the brow. This spirit of youth was highlighted best when models had their hands thrust into relaxed knee-length shorts, like cool-crowd teenagers at a skate park being deliberately inconspicuous, or when paired with metallic leopard prints – on skinny pants, a cropped bustier and lace-trimmed skirt.
The rest of the time Som’s New York fashion week (NYFW) hair and beauty look played complete contrast to the sheer prettiness of florals and pastel splashes, and even more so to delicate, almost undetectable netting worn over some of the models’ eyes.
Pretty with a touch of punk. You can see all of the Peter Som spring / summer 2013 runway collection by clicking on a thumbnail on the left. From there you can browse through each of the pictures from the fashion show.
