If Natalie Ratabesi’s resort 2014 collection for Philosophy stands for something, it is definitely to prove just how much does a modern vision weigh in redefining a label’s entire attitude. With a romantic disposition and more inspiration coming from the open-air concert and music festival fashion scene, the resort line-up fused the bohemian spirit with the sportier tendency in a way that felt like it was meant-to-be.
A bouquet of romantic dresses, the 1970s shirtdress inspired silhouettes and the ikat multilayered print jackets were the beautiful results of the bohemian flow running through the collection, while the tie-dye denim ensembles and the fit-and-flare frocks with neoprene mesh inserts were clearly touched by an athletic drive.
Using the Southern Californian mental outlook and breathing a minimalist tendency into it, Natalie Ratabesi proved that clashing styles can easily turn into a beautiful metaphor. Wide-brimmed hats and a selection of sandals in neutral tones complemented the unique resort perspective.
