Change is good, but it can also represent a delicate manner in fashion, requiring a double dose of courage from all of those who feel that change is also hard. Rachel Zoe, who will forever be associated with the classy and polished California boho style, challenged herself this season and came up with a fall / winter 2013 collection exuding of English refinement, mixing the seventies romance with a series of beautiful equestrian-inspired elements. Some might say this was quite the daring step forward, but after a glance at the resulting line up, it all looks effortless and totally worth it.
From sharp three-piece suits, to sleek shirts and tight, everything pointed towards more of a love for structure. The leather pieces infused the collection with modern edginess, while Rachel’s glamorous side was often noticeable in the subtle sequined inserts. For comfort and coziness there were oversized cardigans, cable knit sweaters and flirty day-dresses, all topped by floppy hats, leather gloves and riding boots.
