Rag & Bone’s girl can rest assured, as her cool-girl uniform got a beautiful and equally edgy update for resort 2014. Upon browsing throught the pictures and taking a better look at the garments, you can easily sense they were designed for a specific woman, one who doesn’t lack the attitude to pull them off, who can appear perfectly put together without ever looking like she is trying too hard. That’s David Neville and Marcus Wainwright’s ultimate client and with her in mind, the duo dared make another rebel statement for pre-spring.
Lacking a specific theme for the collection but not missing it in essence, Rag & Bone chose to pursue a mood rather than a string of motifs this season. Amongst them, romance and athleticism were the ones that helped refresh the brand’s signature boy-meets-girl tailoring, as well as the standout pieces of outerwear. Velvet and leather pants stood for downtown appeal, while the mohair cocoon coats served to illustrate the collection’s rather off-duty luxe appeal. Rag & Bone’s iconic ankle boots rounded up the cool line-up that was perfectly marked-out as “urban romantic”.
