Rag & Bone Spring / Summer 2014

Along with the fluorescent orange lips, the call of the nineties was among the first elements to capture our attention as soon as Rag & Bone’s reenvisioning of the grunge era as channeled in their spring / summer 2014 collection, walked the New York fashion week (NYFW) runway bursting with confidence.

Done in a way that had cool written all over it, the reimagining of the spaghetti straps and the oversized sweaters, crossed paths with plenty of sportswear traces. The resulting offering had the downtown girl’s wardrobe essentials stripped to a tough vibe enfolding in minimalism.

Cricket sweaters with deep V-necklines, net-covered slip dresses and A-line pleated skirts, together with effortless overalls grounded by timeless shades of black and white, spoke about a disheveled aesthetic built in modern tones. Accented with cross-body bags and top-handle totes, Rag & Bone’s collection embodies the spirit of past, present and future New York without loosing an ounce of its relevance.
