As New York fashion week continued yesterday, it brought another key Australian favourite to the runway: Dion Lee. Precision, high-tech techniques like perforating and slicing fabric gave Lee’s garments movement and flow, while his ability to masterfully tailor pieces imbued the collection his trademark effortless sex appeal. Lee saved the best for last, however: towards the end of the show, woven skirts and dresses with fringe-like hems in loops turned models into shimmying beings that nodded to the flapper girls of yore, without ever looking any less than purely now.
The runway looks were heightened by an effortless soft grunge hairstyle, created by Redken for the show.
