In a nutshell, Theyskens’ Theory’s pre-autumn / fall 2013 collection is effortless cool. More than a few outfits look like they slouched their way straight out of the ’90s and into the now, picking up some modern, minimalist twists along the way: a checkered shirt worn open over a tee, skinny printed pants with chunky boots and a cropped brown sweater. The tailored aspects have a relaxed chic, the use of plaid on a dark trench coat a very pared back take on a big fall trend.
And Theyskens’ lightweight pieces bring a freshness, too. Sheer fabric worked into everything from sleeves to pants is like the ’90s-inspired grunginess gone glamorous.
