Cara Delevingne’s super-trendy opening look for Topshop Unique, embodied in general lines the cool, downtown attitude that Topshop managed to captured in their fall / winter 2013 collection. Lots of cropped tops and exposed midriffs, collided forces with an array of chic-oversized silhouettes and luxurious fur accents only to point towards a fresh new image for the Unique girl. Tough at times, but super feminine at others, effortlessly mixing patent leather with sequin and sparkle appliques, the Topshop client is set to have a good time while keeping things simple and smart.
From casually styled sequined garments, to cozy-looking chunky knits and further to the more contrasting pairings best exemplified by an ultra masculine biker jacket teamed with a soft, pink pastel skirt, the line had much to offer in terms of upgraded edginess. Without failing to feel utterly modern and young, Topshop Unique’s collection delivered the sugar and spice by changing the rules of the game and allowing for a little romance to be perceived through all the layers of urban classicism that kicked off this season’s inspiration.
