In a recent interview, Victoria Beckham confirmed the correlation between wearing one of her own dresses and its sales figures. That correlation, she expressed, is very much a positive one.
So it’s understandable that, in being both the designer of and the public representative of, her own brand, Victoria Beckham sticks to creating the kind of silhouettes she’s often seen cutting.
That silhouette is fitted and lean, always with a nipped-in waist that amplifies the sense of strict femininity she always brings to her collections. Showing her fall / winter 2012 collection at New York fashion week (NYFW), Beckham mixed up that silhouette by way of military hints and geometric colour blocks, with details like contrasted collars and slashed sleeves adding just enough interest to keep the classic shapes fresh.
