School girls, a fresh, young and clean take on resort, and plenty of ruffles and gorgeous neutrals are the main ingredients that helped designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren translate their playful vision into a beautiful reality. Exploring the iconic slim-cut blazers, crisp white button-downs and pleated skirts, Viktor & Rolf reimagined a school girl’s essential through a modernistic and minimal eye.
The resort 2014 offering spans over gorgeous menswear inspired tailored suits, blazers and Bermuda shorts, some accented with severe club stripes, others brimming with lively polka dots, alongside plenty of feminine touches unveiled in delicate bows, flounce hems and subtle Swiss floral embroideries. Sculptural coats and dresses covered in shades of gray, pure white and navy complemented the uniform theme.
More out there, hence more Viktor & Rolf, the sweaters and dresses featuring cartoonish oversized zippers, the perfectly tailored jumpsuit beautified with a bow accent and the fun and bold cobalt blue pieces, stood to assert the designer’s persuading frill sensibility.
