Winter from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons painted gusts of wind with violins and rumblings of timpani. Y Project’s collection was the protection to shield one from it, not just in weight but in mood and hue. All together the Paris fashion week (PFW) runway felt like an impressionistic portrait of the coming autumn / winter season, one in which the pieces could be worn indoors or out.
Leather was key to the collection – kangaroo, horse, lamb all featuring alongside denim, tweed, silk and wool. With little by way of print or embellishment, this season for Y Project was all about layering, texture and cuts.
