Band of Outsiders doesn’t cling to an old school sense of self-seriousness. Case in point: their wonderfully simple tag line, “We make clothes and other stuff like that.” Of course, that irreverence is exactly what a lot of people — editors, style insiders, Jason Schwarztman — love about the West Coast label helmed by former Creative Artists agent and current re-imaginer of classic American clothing, Scott Sternberg. BoO rose to prominence for its expertly cut oxford shirts, trim suiting, and other menswear staples, but the brand has since expanded into everything from womenswear to footwear collaborations with the likes of Sperry. Its most recent endeavor, This Is Not a Polo Shirt, is an accessibly priced sportswear collection launching exclusively on Park & Bond that (despite its moniker) actually does include a couple of great polo shirts.
