In the 1930s, a man named Alfredo Corneliani began producing hand-tailored raincoats and outerwear in the city of Mantua. It caught on in a big way, and in the latter half of the 1950s the Corneliani name made the leap from the family itself to a full-fledged company when Alfredo’s sons (Carlaberto and Claudio) founded the tailoring house proper.
