Eton was founded in 1928, after the recession in Sweden forced Annie and David Pettersson to close their saw mill and open up a new business making shirts in the tiny town of Gånghester. Originally functioning under a Swedish name, they changed the label’s moniker to Eton — after the famous, exclusive college — when they brought the collection to the U.K. in the '50s. And though the name changed, the quality that defined the collection, from high-end fabrics to exceptional finishing and classic styling, remained. And they remain to this day, when Eton, still a family business in the hands of the Petterssons can be found internationally in some of the best stores in the world.
