Garbstore

After successful runs with Paul Smith and Burberry, designer Ian Paley decided it was time to start doing his own thing. He launched a label called One True Saxon that found fast success for its unassumingly stylish line of men’s essentials. But after seven strong years, Paley was ready to move on to yet another venture: opening a store, and producing an in-house line of wares under the name The Garbstore. The store itself sits in the heart of London’s Notting Hill, and is widely regarded as a vital outpost for stylish gents in the city. The clothing — steeped in post-WWII style, inspired by the Japanese market’s ability to reinterpret and perfect Americana, and crafted to last — is available worldwide.
