Montenegro-born Stefan Miljanic began his career as an artist, and he approaches Gilded Age, the men's line he founded in 2005, the way Rockwell might a canvas: with an obsessive eye for detail and a commitment to craftsmanship. Gilded Age was initially limited to T-shirts and denim, but by 2008 Miljanic had begun applying the brand's artisanal approach to meticulously unstructured blazers, soft lambskin shirts, and supple Henleys (some knit on nineteenth-century machines) — not to mention its signature denim, which Miljanic credibly refers to as "the best in the industry."
