Pyrenex — the name is a reference to the brand’s home at the base of the Pyrenees mountain range — makes some of the most advanced down outerwear on the market today, but the family-run company has more than 150 years of history behind it. The business started back in 1859, when Abel Crabos began collecting feathers for use in down bedding. His son took the family’s specialization in raw materials even further, but it was Abel’s grandson André that moved the family business into manufacturing — starting in 1960 with bedding, and then, in 1970, crafting down parkas and anoraks fit for great expeditions. Since then, Pyrenex built a reputation for exceptional quality, and in 2009, they upped the style factor as well, bringing on smart young designers to punch things up. The result: outerwear that’s not just incredibly well made, but also incredibly stylish.

Armed with sharp design skills and cutting-edge vision, Olivier Theyskens teamed up with Theory to create Theyskens’ Theory — and they’ve been building a cult following ever since. The ultra-modern dresses, slouchy knits, white-hot blazers, and silky button-downs here each carry the unmistakable Theyskens touch, which takes clean, cool silhouettes and roughs them up with abstract digital prints, asymmetrical cuts, and seductive, sheer panels.
