In 2007, Taylor M. Llewellyn got fed up with corporate America. So he left. The new venture? Producing a line of needlepoint belts that kept up the quality but didn’t cost an arm and a leg. After a month-long trip to Asia, he had a production facility on hand that could provide everything he needed (100 percent wool yarn, tight petit-point stitching, and full-grain leather), while keeping the finished product at an accessible price point. He combined two family names to form the moniker Tucker Blair, started churning out a line of whimsically embroidered belts, and the waistlines of the preppy set have been better appointed ever since.
