Unconventional eye colour

I have, personally, a very strong attachment to liquid eyeliner. Specifically of the winged-out, cat eye kind. But using black liquid eyeliner as well as applying colourful eyeshadow doesn’t always work out for the best (for me anyway), particularly if you’re going for a contrastingly light coloured shadow and don’t have time to blend. Here’s an alternative from the pages of Vogue Nippon’s beauty supplement:…

Thurley: collection preview & interview

Update: you can now find a full gallery of social and runway photos from Thurley’s spring 2011 presentation at the bottom of this article. Like many another label keen to avoid the madness that is any fashion week, Thurley’s spring 2011 offering debuted ahead of the official cutting of the 2011 RAFW (Australian fashion week) ribbon. Fashionising.com headed along to the label’s showing, sitting down…

The crowd at Chanel

Despite not attempting to fit too many people into too small a space, as did Dior, Chanel still managed to pack the entrance to the Grand Palais for their autumn 2011 showing earlier today.

From runway to Dello Russo

But a week after Britt Maren stepped off the No. 21 runway in Milan wearing one of the collection’s most striking sequinned and feathered pieces, the same piece finds its way onto the lithe torso of Anna Dello Russo. Such is the truth: the mere mortal is in for a wait when it comes to getting her hands on the runway pieces shown at any…

Anna Dello Russo: on or ahead

I’m yet to determine whether Anna Dello Russo is a fashion trend setter or merely has her finger so completely on the pulse that she always starts wearing a trend when it’s actually in its infancy. Here she is, again bang on trend, a women’s tuxedo interpretation of 2011′s bell bottoms revival. You can see the complete look after the jump.

Clearly, it’s love

Not long after spotting Cheap Monday’s much-debated transparent rain boots, followed by Anna Dello Russo’s transparent cape (both of which I love equally) I have a new clear plastic object of desire: the Viktor Luna dress. Featured in the latest stunning shoot by Vikram Pathak, splodged with paint and overlaid with a leather harness, it’s perfect editorial fodder. For everyday wear, however? We can only…

Yves saint Laurent clear cape

T’is the season to be clear, but while every else we’ve encountered indulging in the clear trend has opted for footwear leave it to the inimitable caped to instead opt for a clear cape from Yves saint Laurent.

Cat eye glasses trend

Having jumped on this bandwagon long before I ever got the chance to write about it, I figure it’s more than time to fortify the status of cat eye glasses as a 2011 fashion trend. So without further ado let’s take a trip back in time as we explore the ’50s eyewear phenomenon as it was then, and how to translate it to today’s look.…

Anna Dello Russo: leopard and lace

Anna Dello Russo is twice as fit and three times more confidence than many women half her age. Try doing that math. You’ll probably find it equates to sheer lace dresses by Dolce & Gabbana paired with leopard print accessories. It’s not the first time we’ve seen Anna in see-through clothing, either. More pictures after the jump.
