Hungarian model Eniko Mihalik covers the December 2012 issue of Numéro China with a minimalist expression, a minimalist coat from Celine’s winter 2012 collection and contrary hair.

Looking like she belongs somewhere between a fetishist dungeon and Liberty Island is Eniko Mihalik, dressed in stars and crowned in black vinyl and spikes. The shot is from the cover of Japanese magazine Huge, shot by Benny Horne.

From the wigged blonde hair to the reminiscence of 1960s fashion: there’s no mistaking that Eniko Mihalik is a reimagined Belle de Jour. Based on the 1967 film starring Catherine Deneuve, the shoot is faithfully styled by Barbara Baumel and has a cinematic quality to it. Somehow, though, Vincent Peter’s shots are lacking the emotion Eniko usually brings to a shoot.

What do John William Waterhouse and Ellen Von Unwerth have in common? Not much, and the two probably don’t find themselves side by side in a sentence too often. Von Unwerth’s works are often brazenly erotic; Waterhouse’s only subtly so.
