If you’ve seen 1978′s Grease then the odds are that you’re more than familiar with Frankie Avalon’s song of the same name. In it Avalon, as guardian angel, opines the future of Frenchy; a high-school drop out with dreams of becoming a beautician. Frenchy is sadly “a teenage ne’er-do-well”; not much of a student and even less of a beautician. While it’s right there in…

As She Waits is the title of this shoot starring Abbey Lee Kershaw. Waits for what, we don’t quite know. But she feels like a girl out of place against the decaying opulence of an abandoned theatre, wearing girlish frocks and hairpins, paired with Prada’s hot rod heels and purses. Yet another shoot from the March issue of Interview (fast proving a must pick-up issue…

Interview Magazine called it Metal Headz: “a new modern armour… like a gilded cage for the body”, referencing the “eroticism of a constricted silhouette that demands a sharp intake of breath.” A sharp intake of breath indeed. Styled by Karl Templer (who also just wowed us with this transformation of Katy Perry in the same issue) it’s a futuristic vision that recalls Fritz Lang’s Metropolis…

Katy Perry is not know for bring understated or classic; in fact if there’s one word that perfectly defines her public image, colourful might just be it. “She’s a Rainbow”, as the Rolling Stones once sang. And yet Interview Magazine put on their latest cover a barely recognisable Katy Perry in monochrome, with styling that might have been borrowed from the dressing room of Monica…

Putting a much-exposed celebrity on the cover of a magazine isn’t in itself newsworthy. But putting them on the cover of a magazine and making them unrecognisable? In case you needed more evidence of a 20s fashion revival: launching this week is Katy Perry’s new campaign for ghd, promoting the brand’s new Scarlet Collection. While last time Perry was transported by the ghd team and photographer David LaChapelle back to the 50s, 70s, and 80s, this time she’s been given classically 1920′s finger waves – just ripe for the burgeoning trend. Katy…

Bad customer service leads to a rather silly e-mail and then... a trend on Twitter. Yet what are we all GASPing about?

David LaChapelle is well known for his saturated, glamorous, often dream-like photography… So could there be a more perfect subject for his lens than popette Katy Perry? Shooting a campaign for hair styling brand ghd meant there was always going to be some element of fantasy involved, and LaChapelle doesn’t disappoint. Katy is a kind of uber-glamorous modern day Sleeping Beauty, waking up in three…

Perusing pictures from the event, one might be forgiven for thinking that the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards had little to do with music and more to do with fashion trends. After all, both Beyonce and Katy Perry took to the stage in Berlin donning 2009′s and 2010′s underwear as outerwear trend. Perry even found time to don a pair of lace-up, over the knee…

Rihanna caused a bit of a stir recently with her brazen extension of the lingerie as outerwear trend into nipple-tassel territory; openly wearing a pair of star-shaped nipple pasties under a low-cut jacket. Not deterred by criticisms, Rihanna again stepped out in a set of bright pink nippies, visible under a sheer black top.
