Retro styling with a modern twist

A big, old, empty castle brimming with history served as perfect location for Lucia Moretti’s retro flavoured photo shoot. Exploring the empty spaces, playing house, becoming one with the opulent surroundings, model Aleksandra seems caught somewhere between the past and the present. Wearing a delicate Zalando lace dress that begged for a retro styling, she embodies pure femininity with a modern twist.

Maiden Lane: No holding back

Michael Donovan‘s photography is usually as raw, bold and blunt as it gets, more so when every one of his pictures seems to be carved out from a real-life fantasy that keeps you in a constant awe, striving to find out more, to see more. With a trio of models playing naughty and nice and a full creative team contributing to the puzzling story, Maiden…

As far as photo shoots go, vintage swimwear can do no wrong. On the beaches I’ve frequented so far this summer, however, it’s a look that’s in short supply. XOXO might hopefully redress that balance with model Linnea Hellbom’s and photographer Marco Trunz’s collaboration for the title.

YDE Copenhagen fall campaign: pristine femininity

You might say that Ole Yde, designer of YDE Copenhagen, defies convention a little with his flourishing, poetically feminine designs. After all, it’s clean minimalism the world expects of the Scandinavian aesthetic. Instead, YDE’s fall 2013 campaign shows what kind of beauty can occur when the pristine nature of Danish design and the luxuriousness of feminine details come together: ruffled hemlines, sheer overlays, and the…

Paris, je t’aime: stylespiration from Yo Dona

Interpreting how you wear trends is a very personal thing – spring 2013′s fashion trends being no exception – and yet we can all use some help and inspiration, particularly of the visual kind. This shoot by Benjamin Kanarek was created for specifically that purpose. Styled by Isabel Moralejo, it’s a crisp, clean dissection of some of spring’s key pieces and how they can be…

Rochas Fall / Winter 2013

Hard and then soft, classic yet somehow eccentric, Marco Zanini’s approach to volume and exaggerated proportions this season revealed yet another spectacular collection envisioned for Rochas, a collection where nothing is as uncomplicated as it appears at first sight. Behind familiar silhouettes and a gained sense of comfort, thick fabrics shaped into couture-like volumes were keen on reflecting how clothes can alter a woman’s figure…
